We put the work in at the ground level to build the rights supports for people on the Spectrum – in their schools, universities/ TAFEs, workplaces and communities. We train our people to be leaders so that our network keeps expanding.

We are looking for Junior Mentors in South East, Metro, and North Coast Queensland

The I CAN Network, Australia’s first social enterprise founded by Autistics, is looking for a person with a strong connection to Autism to co-deliver its new mentoring programs as ‘Mentors’ in the 2018 calendar year. Mentors will work with the Network Leader they have been assigned to co-deliver regular group mentoring sessions for a select group of individuals on the Spectrum at schools. The commitment would involve a fixed number of hours per mentoring session and availability during school hours. Successful applicants will be able to relate to the experiences of mentees on the Spectrum, have emerging facilitation skills and a passion for the individual strengths of people on the Spectrum. We are looking for a Network Leader in Echuca – Northern Victoria

I CAN Network, Australia’s first social enterprise founded by Autistics, is looking for a person with a strong connection to Autism to co-deliver its mentoring programs as a Network Leader in the Echuca region during the 2018 calendar year. Reporting to the Network Manager for I CAN Goulburn Murray, Network Leaders (along with an assigned Mentor) are responsible for the delivery of regular group mentoring sessions for a select group of individuals on the Spectrum at schools. Network Leaders will work with and coach the Mentor they have been assigned, manage the relationships and expectations of stakeholders, and support the I CAN message through our mentoring programs to help to drive a rethink of Autism from ‘I Can’t’ to ‘I CAN’. The commitment would involve a fixed number of hours per mentoring session and availability during school hours. Successful applicants will be able to relate to the experiences of young people on the Spectrum, have demonstrated facilitation skills, and a genuine passion for supporting the individual strengths of people on the Spectrum. Can I apply for a position if I already work part time?

Absolutely. If you have a day or more free each week we’d love to hear from you!

What roles can I apply for?

I CAN Network offers a diverse range of leadership opportunities. We mainly advertise our Mentor position. The Mentor role is our general entry point into the team and can lead to other opportunities such as Network Leader. Successful applicants become ‘Mentors-in-Training’ and have a probationary period in the role, the outcome of which may lead to a successful appointment as Mentor.

Do I need to have a drivers licence to apply?
Many of the locations in which we work are accessible by public transport so a drivers license is not a mandatory requirement.

We are looking for Speakers Agency Speakers in Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania

I CAN Network, Australia’s first social enterprise founded by Autistics is looking for a person with a strong connection to Autism to deliver the I CAN message, driving a rethink of Autism from ‘I Can’t’ to ‘I CAN’. Our speakers deliver either a motivational, educational or professional development presentation or workshop, speaking on behalf of the I CAN Network and reflecting the I CAN philosophy and values to various schools, businesses, governmental, and community organisations that have engaged our speakers and professional development services. Reporting to the Speakers Agency Manager, Speakers will be responsible for preparing their presentations, meeting the logistical demands on the delivery of the speaking engagement, and ensuring the content aligns with the expectations of the engaging organisation. Successful applicants will have a passion for and be able to relate to the experiences and talents of people on the Spectrum, have emerging public speaking skills, demonstrated professionalism, and good time management skills. We are looking for a Social Impact Research Assistant in the Greater Melbourne Region

I CAN Network, Australia’s first social enterprise founded by people with Autism, is looking for a person with a strong connection to Autism to work as a Social Impact Research Assistant. Reporting to the Evaluations and Social Impact manager, this volunteer-based position will assist in designing, running and analysing quality control and social impact studies within the I CAN Network. This person will mostly work ‘behind-the-scenes’ with findings being communicated to management (Core Enabler team), the I CAN Team (made of volunteers and employees) and the wider community.
