About the I CAN Network

ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

The I CAN Network is driving a rethink of Autism, from ‘I Can’t’ to ‘I CAN’. We mentor young people on the Autism Spectrum to live life with an ‘I CAN’ attitude. We bring out the ‘awe’ in AWEtism through education, advocacy and providing opportunities. We build networks across schools, universities, TAFEs, communities, businesses and governments.

Together, we are Australia’s first social enterprise founded by people with Autism. You can read more us in our annual report.

VISION

A world that benefits from embracing Autism.

MISSION

To prove what people with Autism CAN do.

WHAT WE DO

MENTORING

We run a mentoring social enterprise that is customised across camps, schools, universities, TAFEs, communities and regions and businesses.

EDUCATION

We run a Speaker Agency so that groups can hear stories of people with Autism and learn about how to enable people with Autism through ‘quiet magic’.

ADVOCACY AND GIVING

We run campaigns that drive a rethink of Autism, such as AWEgust for AWEtism, which brings out the ‘awe’ in AWEtism and raises funds for our mentoring in low socio-economic areas.

OUR IMPACT

In schools, students on the Autism Spectrum can often feel isolated and have low self esteem. Our mentoring programs build a community around people on the Autism Spectrum that celebrates their individual strengths.
